Art Psychotherapy

According to the Association of Art Therapists of Quebec, we can define art therapy in this way:

Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy. It draws its foundations from art and psychology. Art therapy encompasses expression and reflection, both pictorial and verbal. If the client approaches the same type of psychological problems as in a conventional verbal therapy, he or she engages in a process that relies on artistic expression and the creation of images for therapeutic purposes. The production of images serve as a privileged communication tool between the client and the art therapist. Once the image has been created, the art therapist welcomes the client’s verbalizations and offers with the client’s support interpretations that can promote awareness to resolve the psychological difficulties and conflicts presented. Through its training, the art therapist is able to evaluate the psychological functioning of the client and to propose interventions and therapeutic treatments adapted to the problems presented by the client.

Professional orientation or tele-orientation

Orientation exercises aiming to guide children, adults and seniors in their personal, academic and professional development.

It first allows for a better understanding of the self, which can then be used to recognize the right training programs, understand the job market and ultimately, the development of a life project.

In order to clarify the person’s identity and put a personal project in place, various psychometric tools and various methods of evaluation are used to evaluate interests, aptitudes, behaviour as well as cognitive and affective functions. Productive thinking, decision-making and implementation are indispensable tools in the orientation process.

By assessing the clients’ psychological functioning and evaluating their personal resources, the counsellor helps them reflect, mobilize resources and make life and career decisions.

ImÂges etc. caters to many individual needs, including:

• Academic and vocational guidance

• Studying techniques and academic success

• Adjustment to work

• Career changes

• Retirement planning

Training in companies or online
